Poetry is the rhythm

Poetry is the rhythm

Strongly related to music, beauty and art, the poem has its historical roots in the accompanying lyrics of musical pieces. Until the Middle Ages, poems were sung. Only then was the text separated from the musical accompaniment. As in music, rhythm is of great importance.

This rhythm started from ancient Greece and reached Murcia in 1945. Murcia, a mixture of styles ranging from Gothic to Baroque, and the colorful 18th century Episcopal Palace, was where José Maria Galiana, poet and singer, was born. nationally renowned for its sweet words converted into poetry that gave rise to unforgettable songs.

Author of the albums Jose Maria Galiana (1979), For Vicente Medina, on the poet Archenero (1986), Naranja y Limón, and with many other texts by Andúgar, Calendario Murciano both from 1986, Papel de lija (1988, 2002) and Aires Murcianos (2005), again with poems by Medina.

Unfortunately life is not eternal but luckily Art is.

The one who was and will continue to be a great artist, left us on April 5, the poet and singer was yet another victim of the current Coronavirus (Covid-19).

This is the moment that we revive art and make those memories but never our reality.

The Real Editorial thanks you for your existence. Live Art!
